Common questions about recovery at Alan's House.
Sober Living FAQ
How much is rent and what is included?
Housing is $650/month which includes all utilities, wifi, monthly professional cleaning, weekly activities, cleaning supplies, and cooking staples (oil, seasonings/spices, flour, sugar, coffee
). A partially refundable deposit of $300 is required to move in. Housing fees are due by the 14th day in services. If fees are not paid on the 14th day by 12pm, the resident will be required to move out by 5pm; forfeiting the deposit. All other deposits are returned based on the condition of the living space when the resident moves out.
We are committed to helping residents meet their financial and recovery goals and can support flexible payment arrangements based on individual needs. No discounted or free housing will be provided.
What should I bring with me?

A typical day would involve getting ready for work, school, volunteering, or other activities, attending those activities, returning home, making a meal with your house mates or individually, participating in evening check in (unless excused for work or other appointments), socializing with other residents, completing homework or other activities, and adhering to quiet time and lights out.
- Every Wednesday, staff will support making a meal together and holding a weekly house meeting. Attendance at the house meeting is required.
- Residents are also expected to engage with their recovery community through connecting with a sponsor, attending recovery meetings, volunteering, or engaging in recovery friendly activities.
Can I work an unusual or non-traditional schedule?
Yes. We understand that people work different shifts and schedules. The only requirement is to attend the weekly house meeting on Wednesdays. We will also take schedules into consideration when pairing roommates.

Can someone else fill out the application for me?
Yes, someone else can start the application for you; however, a phone interview is required for all residents.
